As many of you know by now, WWE released nine Superstars earlier today. One of the bigger names released was Samoa Joe, who had been working on commentary recently but was replaced by Corey Graves on Monday’s RAW broadcast. Joe signed with WWE back in 2015.
Following the news of his release, the now-former WWE Superstar took to Twitter and posted a GIF of Jim Carrey taking a bow in The Truman Show with the caption, “Be well.”
CM Punk, who had a long-standing feud with Samoa Joe in Ring of Honor, tweeted a GIF of Dave Chappelle as Rick James from a Chappelle’s Show sketch.
Joe responded to the tweet, saying,
“They really should of never gave me money.”
Punk later replied, saying,
“f***ed up and paid us.”
