Samoa Joe Says He Is Still Working On An In-Ring Return

Samoa Joe, was a guest on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast. Alongside revealing when he was first approached about a return to NXT. He also stated that he would be looking to make an in-ring return at some point. Joe had this to say when asked if he was still working towards a return to the ring:

“Absolutely… We’ll just say yes, we’ll leave it at that.” Joe would expand on this a little further however, stating who his dream opponents in NXT would be if he could make an in-ring return. “Karrion Kross, Pete Dunne are definitely top of that list. A guy like Walter, people have been asking for it, I’m not blind it’s with good reason. He’s a powerhouse, and people want to see some furniture moved. You know, and then it’s not just one or two guys. Guys from Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle Riley, I mean there’s several very very accomplished athletes in NXT. Bronson Reed, I know he’s always running his mouth, He wants to get some.”

If Samoa Joe is to make an in-ring return, he will have to do so whilst also balancing a series of new roles he has been given upon his return to NXT, with Joe stating:

“It wasn’t just about coming back to NXT and being an enforcer and having a role on the show. I’m working in the Talent Scouting department. A few more administrative things here and there behind the scenes, it’s a little bit of a transition for me too into some of the other aspects of the business of WWE. It’s kinda an evolution of my journey, I’ve gone through the commentary production ranks. Now, I’m working a little more on the behind the house kind-of thing. It was a really great, cool opportunity that Hunter offered me and I’m still a performer within the bounds of WWE.”
