Mercedes Moné (formerly Sasha Banks) made her NJPW debut earlier this month by challenging KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Despite suffering a career-ending neck injury at the hands of Moné in 2017, Saraya holds no resentment towards her former WWE colleague. On the WHOO’S House Podcast, Saraya revealed that she sent Moné a text message to congratulate her on her NJPW debut. The AEW wrestler said,
“I texted her the other day, just to be like, ‘Congratulations,’ and she said that she’s happy. We have a built-in storyline because unfortunately, it was me and her in the ring when my career ended. For years I’ve been telling her ‘It’s okay, accidents happen.’ So, when I got cleared, she was one of the first people I text.”
