Sasha Banks and Naomi have been suspended from WWE after walking out of Monday’s episode of RAW just as the show was going live on the air.
During this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Michael Cole announced that the two women have been “suspended indefinitely” and there will be a tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in the coming weeks.
As we reported earlier today here on eWn, Sasha Banks could be out of WWE within a matter of months as her contract is reportedly set to expire soon.
During this week’s RAW, Banks and Naomi walked out of the show, leaving their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with John Laurinaitis.
Former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide noted on The Masked Man Show that both Naomi and Banks’ contracts are set to expire shortly, and Banks’ deal is ending within the next two months.
WWE has the option to freeze Banks’ contract should she refuse to return after this week’s walk-out.
It’s reported that WWE is against the idea of releasing either woman, believing that the pair have a lot of support which would make them ideal signings for AEW.
