Scott Steiner Wins Dutch World Title, Jushin Liger Update


— Scott Steiner defeated champion Santos to win the Dutch Heavyweight Championship during the 2013 edition of Dutch Pro Wrestling’s Grand Slam event. 757 fans from Holland and neighboring countries like Belgium, Germany and France gathered at the DPW Arena in Poeldijk, near The Hague, to see the event. Steiner became the sixth Dutch Heavyweight Champion in the history of Dutch Pro Wrestling.


— The event also saw the DPW debut of former WWE Intercontinental Champions Carlito and Shelton Benjamin and also “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters. Benjamin defeated Dutch WWE prospect Emil Sitoci, while Chris Masters defeated Holland’s Mark Kodiak. Former Dutch Heavyweight Champion Max Damon defeated Carlito.

In addition, Kenzo Richards defeated UK wrestling Johnny Moss. Belgium wrestling legend Bernard Vandamme teamed up with local fan favorite the Trouble Maker to beat German Eric Schwarz and the demonic Cybernic Machine.

— On November 17 Japanese wrestling legend Jushin “Thunder” Liger will make his Dutch wrestling debut at the Japanese Conflict event. He will face The Untamable Emil Sitoci in the main event. Tickets for Japanese Conflict are set to go on sale on Monday, June 17. Tickets start at 15 euro. There will also be a FanFest before show with a Q&A session, and photo and autograph opportunities featuring Liger.
