Nothing in Sean Waltman’s lengthy career will match up to his upset victory over Razor Roman during the May 17, 1993, episode of Monday Night RAW.
After competing under various names, Waltman, known on the night as the ‘Lightning Kid’ would shock everybody by defeating Ramon, who was a much bigger star.
Speaking on “Insight,” Waltman recalled the win which would dramatically change his career. He said,
“There’s no close-second moment that was as important as that one was in my career. Really in my life too, that was so huge it was life-changing, the trajectory of my life changed because of that moment, it was huge. It had so much impact it was a unique way of introducing somebody.”
Watman’s pinfall upset over Ramon would give him the name the 1-2-3 Kid, which he would stick with in the WWF until returning years later as X-Pac.
