As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, several top Superstars failed to make it to Monday night’s WWE RAW house show in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena due to travel issues.
Seth Rollins and Austin Theory were supposed to headline the WWE Holiday Tour event in Columbus.
However, travel issues rendered it impossible for The Visionary to appear at the venue, and WWE instead had Theory defend the United States Championship against Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano in a Triple Threat Cage Match.
While responding to a fan on Twitter, Rollins apologized for his absence and explained why he was unable to reach the event. The former Universal Champion wrote:
“It did. And I’m very sorry! We tried, but by the time the bus broke down on the side of the road we had no other recourse.”
Travel must have prevented @WWERollins and @BeckyLynchWWE from getting to @NationwideArena so we get Theroy/Gargano/Priest in the cage main event. Kinda a letdown. #WWEColumbus pic.twitter.com/hByojAxlKo

Pwinsider reports that WWE’s travel bus was in Iowa last week ahead of this week’s Holiday Tour. It’s a 9-10 hour trip from Columbus, not taking into account the harsh weather conditions across the country.
Besides Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Becky Lynch, and Alexa Bliss were also unable to make it to the live event in Columbus.
