A settlement conference between Oliver Luck and Vince McMahon in regards to their lawsuit has resulted in no deal being reached.
For those unaware, Luck sued McMahon back in April of 2020 after the XFL shut down over claims that McMahon wrongfully terminated his contract.
McMahon and Alpha Entertainment argue that Luck violated his contract and was insubordinate, giving McMahon a reason to fire him, thus ending his obligation to pay out the rest of his contract. Daniel Kaplan of TheAthletic.com reports that the settlement hearing was held today in advance of the trial date next month.
The settlement talks ended in about nine minutes. Pro Football Talk reports that this likely means the presiding judge realized both sides’ attempts to reach an agreement was never going to happen and we’ll now see a trial take place in about four weeks.
