Settlement talks between Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck have reportedly stalled in the ongoing lawsuit between the two.

Luck is suing McMahon and the XFL, claiming he was wrongfully terminated from his position as XFL commissioner when the league ended prematurely in 2020.

Luck is alleging that Vince McMahon and his entertainment company, Alpha Entertainment, owe him $23.8 million that remained on his contract, as well as damages and attorney fees.

PWInsider reports that a meeting on Wednesday afternoon between the two sides was unable to yield any progress on a settlement, despite McMahon and Luck meeting for over five hours.

McMahon launched a countersuit in January 2021, alleging Luck abandoned his duties following the cancelation of the season and ignored directives from McMahon for the XFL’s talent pool to include “quality football players with good character.”

McMahon has said Luck ignored this directive in regards to wide receiver Antonio Callaway, who was signed by the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers despite previous NFL suspensions for credit card fraud and violating their substances policy.

The lawsuit appears poised to continue as it approaches its July trial date.
