According to a report from Pwinsider, several segments that were originally planned for SmackDown were changed during the course of the day.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was said to have been very “hands-on” with the TV taping. Vince was heavily involved in the Ronda Rousey/Charlotte Flair brawl that ended the show.
Additionally, the match between Natalya and Shayna Baszler vs. Naomi and Sasha Banks was changed earlier in the day. The match was originally advertised in advance as Zelina Vega vs. Sasha Banks, then changed to Carmella & Zelina Vega vs. Sasha Banks and Naomi before the final match was decided upon.
According to reports, the changes were made as a way to potentially put Natalya and Baszler into the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 38.
