Several wrestlers have responded to CM Punk’s explosive comments made during the AEW All Out 2022 post-show media scrum.

During the event, Punk lashed out at AEW’s EVPs Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, criticizing their management and accusing them of spreading lies about him.

Punk also took aim at his former best friend Colt Cabana as well as ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.

Fightful Select reached out to several people within the industry, with Punk’s actions garnering a mostly negative response.

One top star in WWE noted that this is the CM Punk they knew years ago.

Two WWE Superstars said that if this is a work as some have suggested, it is very intricate, with one stating:

“If this Punk press scrum thing is a work.. bravo.”

The two Superstars had spoken to the site before last night’s RAW, and said that from what they knew, Punk’s comments and actions were not a work.

The two also questioned why Tony Khan hasn’t put a statement out regarding Punk mocking the EVPs of AEW.

A WWE official said that they agreed with Khan’s previous comments about conflict in AEW, that wrestlers who don’t like each other isn’t a bad thing for wrestling.

However, they added that in situations such as these, leadership needs to be asserted to show the roster that this won’t be tolerated.

That official said that this kind of thing didn’t happen often in WWE, as talent knew they’d lose their jobs if they acted like Punk is acting.

The official gave the example of Alberto Del Rio, who was fired after a backstage altercation with an employee.

One talent who has previously worked with Punk said:

“You can’t expect a lot of people here to have a lot of positive things to say about Punk, and I think he’s aware of that and has probably come to peace with it.

“I feel like he’s trying to run things there, and it looks like he’s doing it.”

Another top name said that AEW’s stars need to put differences aside for their product.

“None of them have business talking about drawing houses or losing fans or interest.

“They have a good show but this is still the biggest piece of business they’ve done and they have to capitalize.”

They pointed out people like Matt Hardy, Edge, MJF, and Kurt Angle, who have been able to put personal issues aside to do big things.
