With rumors circulating around that former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville and Nia Jax are considering leaving WWE, another interesting rumor has begun floating around the professional wrestling newswire. Joe Lanza of the VOW Flagship Podcast says that he knows for a fact that several WWE Superstars have been asking Cody Rhodes for advice as it pertains to leaving WWE for the indie scene. Lanza said he is unable to give any specific names:
“[Cody] doesn’t have any plans on going to WWE anytime soon. There’s wrestlers in WWE going to him and getting advice on their own exit plans from the company. I know this for a fact. I can’t give you the names. I know that’s a bit of a d*ck tease [but] I can’t say the names but there’s wrestlers that go to him for advice on how to leave the company.”
With the immense amount of success that non-WWE products such as The Bullet Club, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks (Hot Topic deal) have seen outside WWE, it’s understandable why some talents within WWE who are being held back are considering the move. Neville reportedly wants to go out and make a name for himself all around the world, similar to what Drew McIntyre did before returning to NXT and winning the show’s World Title. It should be interesting to see how the situation progresses in the coming months.
