Over the past couple of years on WWE TV, you’ve noticed that Sheamus has had a change of beard style, hairstyle & multiple changes of appearances in general throughout his time in the WWE. During a recent episode of Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, the current RAW Tag-Team Champions, Sheamus & Cesaro joined the show and during the conversation, Sheamus revealed why he has been changing his appearance so often over the years.
Here’s an excerpt from that particular portion of the podcast:
Sheamus: “That was a drastic change. Before I left the first time, people were sick and I was sick of babyface Sheamus. I was more of a bully as a baby face than I was as a heel. I came back with the drastic hair and the beads; love life went down the tube for about a year and a half. I knew what I had to do, it was the whole point. I sacrificed that to do the character, it was great. Eventually the beads came out then we started to see the proper beard and we started going into Mania we evolved the looks. We had an idea, then we found out were going to be in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, then it switched again. We talked to writers and they’re like ‘no you’re in the tag-team ladder match. I had the idea for the kilts, (Cesaro’s) suit jackets. Honestly, I don’t think anyone looked better than we did.”
