WWE Superstar Sheamus isn’t thrilled with the finish of the Intercontinental Championship main event from this week’s episode of SmackDown on FOX.

In a rematch from Clash at the Castle, Sheamus faced Champion GUNTHER, who retained under controversial means.

Though GUNTHER tapped to Sheamus’ Cloverleaf, he only hit the mat twice, which did not warrant a submission victory.

The act of tapping twice, known as the ‘Brazilian Tap,’ is used sporadically in MMA to trick an opponent to believe they’ve won and break the hold.

In MMA, a fighter must hit the mat three times to make a tap-out official.

The Austrian also used a shillelagh he received from Imperium stablemate Ludwig Kaiser out of sight of the referee.

On Twitter, Sheamus had a new name for the successful Intercontinental Champion.

Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland will face Imperium tonight at WWE Extreme Rules 2022 in a ‘Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match.’
