ROH issued the following:
After Flip Gordon challenged RUSH to a match at the Best in the World pay-per-view on June 28 in Baltimore, RUSH accepted the challenge in a rather unique way: He punched Gordon in the face and then shook the fallen Gordon’s lifeless hand to seal the deal.
This will be the first-ever one-on-one match between Gordon, ROH’s Breakout Star for 2018, and RUSH, who has yet to be pinned or forced to submit since debuting with ROH last December.
The challenge took place on June 1 in Kent, Was., after Gordon won a Four Corner Survival Match over PJ Black, Dalton Castle and RUSH in an HonorClub exclusive (the replay is available for HonorClub members in the VOD vault).
Castle grabbed a microphone after the match and trash-talked RUSH, saying that he was going to destroy Dragon Lee, RUSH’s younger brother, at Best in the World. When RUSH entered the ring, Castle exited.
At that point, Gordon said that Castle might be afraid to face RUSH, but he isn’t. Gordon said he would kick RUSH’s ass at Best in the World, and he extended his hand. That’s when RUSH nailed him in the face with a right hand.
Will Gordon be the one to hand RUSH his first defeat in ROH? Or will RUSH add Gordon to the growing list of ROH stars who messed with him and got Bull’s Horns? Join us live in Baltimore, on pay-per-view or streaming for HonorClub to find out!
