In an update on the TNA World Tag-Team and TNA World Championships situation, both were decided at Friday night’s iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings.
As for the Tag Team Championships, they are currently vacant following The Hardy Boys departure earlier this week. TNA will be holding a four-way match to determine the new champions. Also, the titles are now being branded the “iMPACT! Wrestling Tag Team Championships”. As previously reported, the company is distancing itself from the TNA brand. As of now, the TNA name is still prominently featured on ImpactWrestling.com.
As for the TNA World Championship, Bobby Lashley is now back in possession of the title as Alberto El Patron relinquished the championship to open Friday night’s iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings. El Patron said he didn’t want to win the title in the controversial fashion that he did. The championship was returned to Bobby Lashley and El Patron defeated Ethan Carter III later in the show to become the new #1 contender. This will likely air in two weeks. The title change will air next week.
