STARDOM and Bushiroad held a ‘STARDOM 2022 Strategy Meeting’ press conference earlier today.
During the presser, it was announced that the companies will be creating an IWGP Women’s Championship. The plan is to crown the first-ever champion at a joint STARDOM/NJPW event on November 20. The title will be defended at NJPW events in Japan and the United States.
Bushiroad has been thinking about creating a women’s title ever since they bought STARDOM in 2019.
It was also announced that Bushiroad has made a billion yen in sales since buying STARDOM.
