Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon may have one last public appearance for the promotion as part of next year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.
McMahon retired from WWE in July, a month after stepping down as Chairman and CEO, due to the ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct with employees.
According to a report from the US Sun, Stephanie McMahon has been pushing the idea of inducting her father into the WWE Hall of Fame. It should be noted that the US Sun is not the most credible source for news.
It is being argued that McMahon’s departure from programming and the company was unceremonious and that he deserves a bigger send-off.
However, WWE are aware that there would likely be a public backlash against a McMahon appearance with a celebration of any kid seeming “impossible.”
Another discussion is whether next year is too soon for him to be honored, which would include an appearance at WrestleMania 39.
On the first SmackDown after McMahon’s retirement, Stephanie, now co-CEO of WWE, motivated fans into a ‘Thank You Vince’ chant.
No other names have been rumored for next year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.
