Sturgis Rally Labeled As COVID-19 Hotbed, Chris Jericho/Fozzy

The Sturgis Rally where Chris Jericho and Fozzy had performed not long ago, for multiple shows in North and South Dakota, is now a hot bed for COVID-19 spreading.

Jericho defended Fozzy’s decision to play in those states due to the overall cases being at or lower than 1,000. The arenas were said to be at 35-50% capacity, in spite of footage showing that despite the lower fan capacity, there was a lack of face masks and social distancing taking place.

Chris Jericho would go on to state that Fozzy stayed on the bus throughout the day and that masks were handed out periodically throughout the day, along with temperature checks for everyone. While Fozzy made it through those events without COVID-19 symptoms or a positive diagnosis, not everyone was lucky. Out of 460,000 people who attended those events in a 10-day span, a little over half (266,000) tested positive for the virus. This resulted in over $12 billion dollars in public healthcare being spent, with the average of $46,000 being spent on each COVID-19 case.

The belief is that people that chose to attend the annual rally were not wearing masks and were not adhering to social distancing guidelines.

South Dakota governor, Kristi Noem, has publicly disputed the findings of the study and has called it “fiction.”

“This report isn’t science; it’s fiction. Under the guise of academic research, this report is nothing short of an attack on those who exercised their personal freedom to attend Sturgis.”

Chris Jericho has yet to comment on these findings.
