Former ROH World Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima will be returning to the ring. During a surprise appearance at a recent live event, Morishima announced that he would come out of retirement at a Riki Choshu-promoted event on October 15th, 2018.
For those unaware, Morishima defeated Homicide in February of 2007 to win the ROH World Championship. He would hold the title for six months before losing it to Nigel McGuinness at the “ROH Undeniable” event in October of 2007. Morishima previously worked for Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he was a three-time GHC Heavyweight Championship and five-time GHC Tag Team Champion.
In 2015, Morishima retired due to health issues.
