Throughout the summer, rumors regarding Rey Mysterio coming to Global Force Wrestling appeared to be coming to fruition. Months later, the talks between the two parties are no longer, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
During the summer, while GFW & WWE stars were hanging out at a bar in Nashville, Rey Mysterio was said to have a GFW contract in his hands. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there was a plan in place to have Rey Mysterio challenge Alberto El Patron at the “Bound For Glory” PPV in November. The match would have stemmed from a small feud between Jeff Jarrett & El Patron, which would have lead to Mysterio stepping in to challenge El Patron, on behalf of Jarrett.
