Tammy Sytch’s Public Defender Files Motion To Push Back DUI Manslaughter Case Hearing

Tammy Sytch’s public defender (yes, no personal lawyer has agreed to represent her yet) has filed to delay the next pre-trial hearing in her DUI manslaughter case.

On Friday, Sytch’s public defender filed a motion with the court asking for a continuance. As of this writing, the court has yet to rule on the motion for the delay.

For what it’s worth, the continuance would mean Sytch will remain incarcerated. Despite this, she’s taking indie bookings through social media. Make of that what you will – but it sure seems like a way to scam money from fans and promotors as there’s no way she’s going to be released from jail anytime soon. Additionally, Sytch is currently being held on no bond so there’s no way she would be able to make any bookings.

Sytch is facing charges of DUI manslaughter, among many other charges, after she killed 75 year-old Julian Lancaster in Ormand Beach, Florida following a car accident earlier this year.

The motion reads as follows:

MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE
Under Fla.R.Crim.P.3.190(f), defendant, Tamara Lynn Sytch, moves for a continuance of the trial on the following grounds:

1. The defendant in this case is currently charged by Information with one count of DUI Manslaughter, one count of DWLS with Death and six counts of misdemeanor DUI.

2. Depositions are currently scheduled in this matter through January 5, 2023. Deposition requests regarding the setting of additional witnesses are currently pending.

3. Additional time is needed to prepare this case for trial.

4. The defendant previously waived her right to speedy trial.

5. Defense counsel would request that the next PreTrial Conference be scheduled in February 2023.

6. Assistant State Attorney Ashley Terwilleger has been contacted and does not object to the granting of this motion.

7. This motion is made in good faith and not for purposes of delay.
