Taz has an old-school mentality and clearly hates some of the slang the kids are using these days – especially the term “banger.”
The term is currently popular among the younger generation and is often referenced in pop, rap, and club music. As many of you know by now, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre currently use the term in their promos prior to their matches.
The AEW commentator took to Twitter following SmackDown to express his displeasure with the phrase, writing:
“‘banger’. Good gosh I hate that term so f**king much. ‘GREAT’, ‘AMAZING’ or ‘AWESOME’ is more than fine. If I was still doing my podcast I would do a WHOLE show on that word….than BAN IT. #HateThatCornySh*t”
