WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long has said he didn’t learn of the passing of Eddie Guerrero until he attended a WWE event.

Guerrero died at the age of 38 in November 2005 and his passing would encourage WWE to introduce its Wellness Policy.

On Sportskeeda’s “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long said that it was Fit Finlay who broke the bad news to him. He said:

“The way I found it out is– I didn’t even know until I got to TV that morning and I walked in and the first person I saw was Fit Finlay. I’m jolly, smiling and shaking hands but he didn’t look in a good mood. He looks at me and says, ‘well, I guess, you don’t know.’ And I said what and then he told me about Eddie. My whole persona just changed because I had just seen him.”

Guerrero, a former WWE Champion, was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the following April.
