MGM Resorts International announced on Wednesday that they’ll be suspending all of their operations until “further notice”. As many of you know by now, the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 23rd.
The company is not taking reservations for the properties until at least May 1st. That may be extended. MGM Chairman & CEO Jim Murren said the following,
“It is now apparent that this is a public health crisis that requires major collective action if we are to slow its progression. We will plan to reopen our resorts as soon as it (is) safe to do so and we will continue to support our employees, guests, and communities in every way that we can during this period of closure.”
While the resorts and arena could open at any time, AEW would still be in a difficult position if they were to begin ticket sales anytime soon.
