As seen during Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole announced that Kazuchika Okada will not be appearing at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event. As of now, there is no word on if that is actually the case. It’s worth noting that Okada has mentioned in numerous interviews that his wife is expected to give birth to their baby in August. Additionally, he has a birthday the week of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door and says he won’t be in the United States to celebrate.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “a lot” of major stars from New Japan Pro Wrestling are expected to be at next week’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings in Milwaukee, WI. The current plan is to set up the remainder of the Forbidden Door card during next week’s broadcast.
