After battling a severe case of food poisoning, Drew McIntyre is now recovering.
The top WWE Superstar was in bad shape last Friday, but he persevered and made his scheduled appearance on WWE SmackDown after receiving treatment backstage. Karrion Kross, a former WWE NXT Champion, choked him out during a segment they had together.
McIntyre was given time off to heal after initially being set to compete at the WWE live events last weekend in Stockton, California and Fresno, California.
McIntyre will return to television this Friday on SmackDown, according to a report from Pwinsider.
In a recent match at the Clash at the Castle pay-per-view event in Cardiff, Wales, McIntyre challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title but lost. McIntyre will face Kross in a Strap Match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Philadelphia.
