The Miz Praised Backstage In WWE Following Torn ACL Injury

UPDATE: According to a report from Fightful, many talent and staff who were backstage at WrestleMania Backlash and watching The Miz’s match with Damien Priest on the monitors could tell something was wrong with him. Despite this, they didn’t originally think it was as severe as a torn ACL.

Numerous WWE talent and staff were praising The Miz for continuing to work through the match with such a serious injury. Due to him continuing to work, the finish went as planned.

ORIGINAL: It was previously reported that The Miz suffered a knee injury during his Zombie Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash against Damian Priest.

Dave Meltzer reported on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Miz suffered a torn ACL.

The injury is suspected to have occurred after Priest landed on Miz’s legs after he performed a spinning kick off the top rope. The severity of the ACL tear for Miz is unknown.

WWE is hoping the injury is a partial tear, since that would not be as serious an injury or long layoff. If it’s a fully torn ACL, it means The Miz could miss up to 7-9 months.
