The Miz is not medically cleared to wrestle after suffering an injury at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view where he worked a zombie lumberjack match with Damien Priest.
The former WWE Champion lost the match, but more notably, Miz suffered a torn ACL in the process. The severity of the injury is something to note as there is a difference in how long he’d be sidelined. If it’s a partial tear he can allow his body to heal or even continue to work. However, if it’s a full gear then he would be expected to be out of action for around 7-9 months.
The Miz did an interview with Sports Illustrated to talk about suffering an injury during his Zombie Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash against Damian Priest.
It’s been reported that Miz suffered a torn ACL. The severity of the ACL tear for Miz is unknown. WWE is hoping the injury is a partial tear, since that would not be as serious an injury or long layoff. If it’s a fully torn ACL, it means The Miz could miss up to 7-9 months.
I’ll be out for a little bit of time. I’ve seen that I’ll be out nine months. I don’t plan on being out nine months. I was on TV last Monday, and I’m going to be on TV every week.
We always tell children not to try what we do at home because it’s a very dangerous sport, and I’m a person that had never been injured in a WWE ring for my entire career. I had a match, and did I get injured? Yes, the answer is yes, I did get injured. How long will I be out? To be completely honest, I don’t even know that. I’m just working on physical therapy, getting everything back to 100% so I can give the audience exactly what they want.”
Miz did appear on last week’s Raw for a Miz TV segment. It’s possible that Miz continues to appear on TV while he recovers from the injury by doing talking segments.
