According to reports, WWE brought significantly less talent to Thursday’s Saudi Arabia Super ShowDown event. Several names, including John Cena, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Rusev, Sami Zayn and Aleister Black are not on the tour. There is also no battle royal scheduled for Super ShowDown. Of course, a battle royal would force WWE to bring in a much bigger crew.
For those who may remember, there were some significant travel issues during the last Saudi Arabia tour and they caused the majority of the roster to miss SmackDown the following night. This forced a complete re-write of the SmackDown script and numerous NXT talents appeared at the last minute instead. This actually turned out to be one of the best SmackDown shows of the year.
The Undertaker and Andrade were backstage at Monday’s WWE RAW TV tapings. The reason they were there is because the WWE crew left for Saudi Arabia immediately following the TV tapings. Numerous SmackDown Superstars were also at the show as they needed everyone together so they could board a chartered flight after RAW.
