The Calgary Herald is reporting that the charges of assault, unlawful confinement and sexual assault against indy wrestler Teddy Hart have been dropped. Hart will now avoid any prosecution as the charges against him were withdrawn at a preliminary hearing on May 26th. The site reports that the case “didn’t meet the criteria needed to move forward”.
As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, two women in Sherwood Park accused Hart of sexually assaulting them during several incidents in 2013 and 2014. Hart signed a “peace bond” on the same day of the hearing agreeing not to contact either woman for the next two years.
Hart’s lawyer said the following regarding the charges being dropped, “Teddy has had this fog of charges over him for a year and a half. He’s relieved and looks forward to getting back to work.”
