The SmackDown Commercial Break Incident Captured Stoppage of Wrestling (VIDEO)

On last night’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown live from the Performance Center, the first matchup showcased Sasha Banks and Bayley vs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Since there was no crowd in attendance due to the recent novel coronavirus circumstances, it seemed interesting if talent would continue to perform during breaks.

It appeared, at least, partially for the women’s matchup, that would not be the case. International TV feeds for the live broadcast catching a glimpse of video right before commercial breaks were completed, showing all four women in and around the ring not performing.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter posted a tweet with the video clip that has since circulated around other social media channels. The understanding was that the footage was coming from an Israeli broadcast and shown in error.

Since the show did not have a live audience, it could be perceived that action was not necessary for safety. However, during the Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro match, after returning from commercial break, WWE did show footage from during the break.

Fans online speculate it was done intentionally, and just having fans talk about the show online to drum up additional viewers. But since it was an isolated international incident, it was most likely just in error.
