There is nothing The Undertaker would like more than to step back into the ring, but the WWE Hall of Famer is fully aware that his body wouldn’t be able to handle it.
In 2020, the Phenom retired from in-ring competition and was given his ‘Final Farewell’ at that year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
In the years prior to the Boneyard match with AJ Styles, the Deadman’s matches had dropped significantly in quality, partly due to his advanced age.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the “Insight” podcast, The Undertaker spoke about possibly wrestling again. He said,
“In my mind and my heart, there’s nothing more than I want to do than get in the ring and perform. It was my body that just said, ‘No, you’re done, dude. We got everything out of this we can get. It’s time for you to move aside and let these guys come up.'”
Speaking about his Final Farewell in the crowd-less Thunderdome, The Undertaker said it was something of a blessing that a live crowd wasn’t present. He said,
“I would have been a wreck if there had been people there. All that Kayfabing I did and protecting the character would have been destroyed in one promo. That would have been balling.”
The Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year and recently appeared on the RAW is XXX edition of the red brand.
