On this day, March 26th, we take a look back to 2001. The day that will forever live in the minds and hearts of all wrestling fans. This was the day WWE purchased their competition. World Championship Wrestling (WCW) was sold! The company had been sold on March 23rd, but did not become public knowledge until March 26th for most. Lots of questions were left unanswered, but the hopes and dreams of all wrestling fans for dream matches, storylines, were about to come true… or did they?

But, as fate would have it, Shane McMahon had other plans.
The invasion angle had begun! We all know how this went down, but for the time, this was wrestling history at its zenith.
