Multiple wrestlers and staff have tested positive for COVID-19, including Renee Young and Kayla Braxton. Both women confirmed they were diagnosed with the virus, making this the second time that Kayla Braxton has been diagnosed since March.
A WWE developmental trainee was diagnosed with the virus back on June 9th. This led to cancellations of the television tapings that were planned for June 16th after WWE wanted to do a more in-depth testing procedure on the talent and staff. A new round of tests came about on Monday, June 22nd, after another COVID-19 positive test came back. These results are not a direct result of the positive test reported back on June 16th, according to WWE.
According to PWInsider, all the talents scheduled to work Friday’s scheduled TV taping for SmackDown had to get the COVID-19 nose swab test done before the tapings. Additionally, all the talents being tested are then asked to isolate themselves ahead of the scheduled TV taping for June 26.
WWE has reportedly requested that talents inform them if they are planning to travel outside of their local areas beyond their work for the promotion. WWE Producer Adam Pearce also confirmed his diagnosis with COVID-19 earlier today.
