“Tiny” Lister (AKA Zeus & Friday’s Deebo) Passes Away

Today, we bring you the sad news of the tragic passing of “Tiny” Lister (full name Tom Lister. Jr), otherwise known as Zeus to the wrestling world, and Deebo in the movie Friday.

TMZ reported that law enforcement informed them of Lister being pronounced dead on the scene after they were called to his Marina Del Rey apartment, just before 3 PM local time Thursday. No cause of death has yet to be reported. He was 62 years old.

Lister starred in the WWF’s “No Holds Barred” movie with Hulk Hogan, leading to three matches between August and December 1989. He wrestled Abdullah the Butcher in his first non-WWF wrestling match in 1990 before stepping away from wrestling. In 1996, Lister returned for his revenge on Hulk Hogan in WCW, now going by “Z-Gangsta.” As a part of The Alliance To End Hulkamania, Lister participated in the Doomsday Cage match at Uncensored 1996.

Lister made a huge mark in the movie industry between 1985-2017. He appeared in The Dark Knight, Austin Powers: Goldmember, The Fifth Element, Jackie Brown and dozens of other films. He also featured in music videos for Michael Jackson, Sublime, Akon, Busta Rhymes, Iggy Azalea, 50 Cent and more.

We extend our condolences and best wishes to Tom Lister’s friends & family at this time.
