Ricochet made an appearance at the NJPW Power Struggle event, where he attacked IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr.
The two men will now be facing off at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
During a recent interview with NJPW, Ricochet discussed the match. He said,
“I think my purpose is the same purpose that everybody has when they come to New Japan. That’s to be the best, and right now, Zack Sabre Jr, he has the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, and like I said yesterday, the person who holds that title is regarded as one of the best wrestlers on the planet. That’s what I came back to remind the people that I am one of the best wrestlers on this planet. Zack is special for me. He is a friend that I’ve known for a long, long time. But at the end of the day, he knows, just as well as I do, that this is a business, and he’s at the top of the business right now, holding that IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. So yes, we are friends, we have a very good history, but at the end of the day, this is a business, and he has something that I want.”
AJ Francis says TNA Wrestling is the hottest place in wrestling these days.
While speaking with Wrestleholics, the former Top Dolla in WWE commented on his time in TNA so far. He said,
“I’m winning, first of all, and on top of me winning, I’m ready to take TNA to another stratosphere of where they used to be. TNA used to sell out 10,000-15,000 seat arenas back in the days of Sting and Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, all those guys. The show that we had had Slammiversary is the biggest show that TNA did in the last decade. The show that we had for Bound For Glory was the biggest show in America that we’ve had in the last decade. So we’re on the rise. We’re the hottest company in wrestling. I want to show, when I was in WWE, I was like a backup offensive lineman. I was there when they needed me. I’m a quarterback, and it’s time for me to show you that not only am I a quarterback, but I’m a Super Bowl-winning quarterback. I’m the quarterback you need, the quarterback you’ve always needed.”
