During a recent appearance on the “Game Changer Weekly” podcast, Brett Lauderdale praised Sunday’s ‘The People vs. GCW’ event and shared his thoughts on PCO’s anti-TNA actions at the event.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the hosts saying that it delivered what they expect of GCW: “I’m glad you feel that way. We did our best, of course. There were some unexpected challenges along the way, but yeah, we did our best to give the best show possible, and I wanted it to be as GCW as possible. So I’m glad you felt that we delivered that in some way.”

On how he felt about the show: “There were some things that I thought were great. There were some things that I thought could have been better. There were a few things that were kind of botched, so to speak, some things that nobody might have even known about, and some things that you might have figured out watching it. Just little things. I’m a perfectionist, so when things don’t go perfect, sometimes I get a little discouraged or upset about it. Overall, I was pretty pleased with most of the show. But it wasn’t perfect. Just to be clear, none of our shows are perfect, so me saying that is not saying it dramatically let down in any way. It’s hard for me to go back and watch any GCW show because I want them all to be perfect, and if they’re not, it’s hard for me to watch it. So me saying this is not unusual. I’m just answering your question.”.

On how he would rate the show out of 10: “I guess I would say it’s, I don’t know, seven, seven and a half. Just to be clear, there’s no GCW show that I would have ever rated a ten. But I would say that it was good, that’s what I would say. It was a good show. I’m always a realist, and I’m our number one critic, I’m our harshest critic. It’s probably to a fault. Probably sometimes I’m too critical. But I thought there was a lot of really exceptional moments, bright spots on the show, cool stuff that happened. There’s nothing I’m second-guessing about the show, which, after the first one we did at Hammerstein, there was a lot of things that I second-guessed and, ‘I wish we would have done this,’ and ‘I wish we would have done that.’ I have none of that about this show.”

On a potential return to Hammerstein Ballroom: “I don’t have a contract right now for another date, but there’s no plan not to go back to Hammerstein. I think it’s just gonna be a matter of if there’s a right time, right moment/scenario that pops up again. I still really love that place. It’s a special place for me. It’s a special place in wrestling, in my mind anyways. Yeah, I don’t know. I would like to go back there someday, but whatever. We’ll see what the future holds.”

On PCO’s anti-TNA actions: “PCO is a longtime friend of ours. He’s a longtime friend of GCW. I’m a big fan of his, personally and professionally. I admire him, and I have a lot of respect for him. So in most circumstances, I give him the benefit of the doubt or I trust him or whatever. What happened, what he ended up doing and what I thought he was going to do beforehand was a little different. I was under the impression that we were kind of…that we were assisting in a storyline for him, and I think maybe either…let me just be clear, maybe we are. I don’t know. Maybe there’s a work going on and I don’t know. I just don’t know. But what happened and what I thought was gonna happen were slightly two different things, and I thought we were kind of doing him a favor by letting him advance a storyline and returning to GCW at the same time, so I only kind of realized that it was more than that after the fact when I started reading reports that he may or may not have done that on his own. So I don’t know. It is what it is. I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like an end-of-the-world scenario here.

“I guess the only people that really know what the situation is are PCO and TNA. If I would have known exactly what was gonna happen, I probably would have either suggested maybe doing it a little differently, or I probably would have reached out to TNA to make sure that they were in on it. But again I give PCO the benefit of the doubt, and I respect him as a person and a performer, so I really tonight we were kind of more doing him a favor than assisting in anything that would have been over the line. Again, I don’t even know. Maybe we did assist them in a storyline. I honestly don’t know. I don’t know if this is something that’s gonna play out later. I was just happy to have him back on the GCW show, and whatever. It was cool to see him. No. I know a lot of the people at TNA, so I feel like I would have been contacted if there was any major issue that would have been on us or if they had questions about it. That’s why I think maybe there is still a storyline going on with it because I feel like maybe if there wasn’t, after the fact, they would have said, ‘Hey, what happened?’ “I can tell you one thing that’s 100% true. PCO is crazy, okay? PCO is actually crazy, and he’s been crazy since the day I met him, so I mean he’s crazy. I know that, and TNA knows that. So nothing should be surprising when it comes to him.”
