TNA is officially putting an end to blading and excessive blood in its matches.
According to a report from Pwinsider, the locker room was informed on Friday that these practices are no longer permitted.
The final match to feature significant blood will be the Dog Collar match taped yesterday. While accidental blood — such as from hardway shots, bloody noses, or mouths — will still be allowed, intentional or excessive bleeding is now prohibited.
This decision was reportedly made with the health and safety of the talent in mind, as well as to maintain strong relationships with current and potential advertisers and business partners.
As we previously reported here on eWn, new Vice Presidents were appointed at TNA Wrestling on Friday.
Eric Tompkins, formerly the Director of TV Production, and Ross Forman, the long-time Head of Media Relations, were introduced to the locker room as having been promoted to Vice President roles.
The announcement was made during a pre-show meeting held this afternoon in Irvine, CA.
Their official VP titles have not yet been disclosed.
