Former TNA President Scott D’Amore is pleased to see TNA and WWE work together, a partnership he has been hoping to see for some time.
The ongoing partnership between WWE NXT and TNA has seen talent crossover including Jordynne Grace, Charlie Dempsey, Joe Hendry, Tatum Paxley, and The Rascalz.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, D’Amore gave his two-cents on the crossover which has proven popular. He said,
“I always felt that TNA and WWE should have a working relationship. I’m proud and honored to have been at the forefront of making that happen. I reached out and said, ‘Hey, why aren’t we doing this?’
“I want to be clear. Everything that TNA is doing now is them. They are the ones having those conversations. Everything going in now is them. I’m happy that as part of my last few acts in the company, we sold out an amazing venue in Vegas. We set a pay-per-view buy record.
“If I had to walk out and have the reigns ripped out of my hands and for a little bit my heart ripped out of my chest, I walked out saying I completed the mission. Completed even after I was told I wasn’t going to be there much longer.”
D’Amore was controversially removed from TNA by parent company Anthem shortly after the relaunch of the brand, something D’Amore played a large role in.
The Canadian was replaced by Anthem’s President in the role as TNA President. D’Amore has since relaunched the Maple Leaf Wrestling promotion.
