During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The Bunny would face a mystery opponent in the first round of the Owen Hart Cup. During last week’s Rampage, Tony Khan teased her opponent would be a new signing. To the fans’ surprise, the mystery opponent was Toni Storm, who has been absent from wrestling since departing WWE without warning in late 2021. AEW confirmed it had signed Toni Storm to a contract on Twitter.
Her last major TV match was to Charlotte Flair in a losing effort for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Storm left abruptly following a live event and requested her release, which WWE immediately granted. She stated the reason for leaving was “burnout, essentially”. Since then, Storm opened an OnlyFans account and made a killing in the first few days of it opening. She won the match against The Bunny and advanced in the Owen Hart Cup. She thanked the fans afterwards.
