Tony Khan faced criticism recently within AEW following the termination of AEW’s now-former head of post-production, Kevin Sullivan.
Sullivan, not to be confused with the Taskmaster from WCW, was fired this month after starting his tenure with AEW in 2019.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was confirmed that the firing of Sullivan took many by surprise, including those working under him in AEW.
Mike Mansury, a former WWE executive, made the call to fire Sullivan and simply told Sullivan that AEW is going in a new direction in 2024. The report adds,
“People in the division didn’t even know that Mansury was Sullivan’s boss, noting that among those who worked in production that was never made clear.”
AEW President Tony Khan faced criticism within AEW due to the Sullivan situation, with some wondering why Khan didn’t step in and prevent this from happening.
Sullivan was said to be well-liked in AEW and the notion of an AEW staple being fired by a former WWE executive has hardly helped the company’s morale.
