Tony Schiavone Reportedly Signs with AEW, Continuing to Call MLW Events


According to a report from PWInsider, Tony Schiavone has officially signed with AEW.

Interestingly, the report also notes that WWE was interested in signing Tony as well. Of course, when WCW went under in 2001, WWE never brought WCW‘s lead announcer into the fold. For many years, it was stated that Vince McMahon was simply not a fan of Tony’s style of announcing.

It is said that Tony will continue his work with MLW and it is not exactly known what his contributions will be on the AEW product, but Schiavone will be returning to TNT for the first time in 18 years.
