WWE Clash at the Castle will be the promotion’s biggest UK event in 30 years, but will go ahead without AJ Styles.
Styles, who joined WWE in 2016, has become one of the biggest stars of the promotion, becoming a two-time WWE Champion, and capturing the Grand Slam in 2021.
It was during an interview with Inside the Ropes that Styles revealed he will not be at the September 3 event.
“I would love to put on a show. I don’t know that I have a story or anything, and it’s a shame.
“There are plenty of other performers that have great stories, so I’m not saddened by the fact that I won’t be there because I know you guys are going to have such a great night with so many great matches.”
This will mark the third consecutive Premium Live Event Styles will miss, after not being booked for SummerSlam 2022 or Money in the Bank 2022.
No explanation has been given for his PLE absences, as the former WWE Champion is not injured and regularly headlines Monday Night RAW.
WWE Clash at the Castle will take place on September 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
