SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan has been getting a lot more involved in WWE storylines as of late, leading many to speculate that he could’ve been cleared by the WWE to resume in-ring work. Per a report from Dave Meltzer on Twitter, however, that is not the case because “as of a few days ago” he has still not been cleared:

The four-time WWE World Champ was forced to retire from in-ring competition in February of last year due to concussion-related injuries. The injuries were so severe that Bryan even suffered post-concussion seizures that he kept quiet. For the past several months talk of a potential in-ring return for Bryan has been discussed, as he has been cleared by several doctors outside of WWE.
Once his contract with the company is up, there’s a very strong possibility his wrestling career resumes outside WWE.
