As some fans may be aware, there was an outbreak of COVID-19 that took place amongst the NJPW roster earlier in the month. Several wrestlers have tested positive, with the names of those wrestlers not being revealed at that particular time. Dave Meltzer reported that some wrestlers did attempt to fly home to the United States from Japan but were unable to because they tested positive and thus had to remain in Japan.

Juice Robinson and David Finlay (FinJuice) and Jay White all attempted to fly home but were unable to do so after testing positive. They are now in quarantine for the next couple of weeks until they are cleared from the virus.

Despite the fact that we saw Finlay and Robinson wrestle at Impact’s Under Siege event this past Saturday (May 15th), that match was taped well in advance before they traveled to Japan and caught the virus.

Fit Finlay (David Finlay’s father) initially shared details of Dave and Jay White being in quarantine during the “Stories with Briscoe” podcast. Also, there is a good chance that more NJPW stars have also come into contact with the coronavirus outside of Finlay, Robinson and White that have yet to be revealed. Thankfully, they’re only suffering from very mild symptoms or showing asymptomatic signs. Since White and Finlay were forced to stay in Japan for the quarantine process, that means they will likely still be in the country for the return to events after the recent postponement.
