Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is said to be nowhere close to making a televised return to the promotion despite working behind the scenes.
It was reported this week that Omega recently returned backstage and has been producing women’s division matches.
Omega has also been working on the upcoming AEW console video game which is rumored to release later this year.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, “there isn’t even close to a date set for Omega to return.”
The Canadian wrestler’s last match was at Full Gear 2021 where he lost the AEW World Championship to ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.
Page will defend the title next week against CM Punk at Double or Nothing 2022.
