We reported yesterday here on eWn that there were plans for Melina to return to WWE back in September. The plan, as told by TNA Alumni Johnny Fairplay during an interview, was for her to return with Robert Stone as her manager for the NXT brand. However, that obviously didn’t happen and Melina shot down those rumors entirely.
In a followup by PWInsider, the plan in fact was for Robert Stone to manage Melina after the angle where Mercedes Martinez ditched Stone at the end of their storyline. At the time, Melina was supposed to come to NXT but there was a bad coronavirus outbreak among the roster and therefore she didn’t appear. The idea was for Melina to work with the younger talent and put them over.
