The Hulk Hogan sex tape lawsuits were picked up nationally by the Associated Press and was a major story in Florida. Stephen Diaco, a lawyer for Bubba “The Love Sponge” Clem, responded to the lawsuit filed against Clem yesterday by stating the following…

“My hope is that these two can preserve their friendship. I can’t comment on the suit. This has caused harm to Bubba and he didn’t release it, he didn’t condone the release of it. He wants to find out who did that and he wants that person to be held accountable.”

The lawsuit against the Clems alleges invasion of privacy, public disclosure of private facts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and violation of the Florida law that makes it illegal to tape someone without their knowledge. Hogan also claims that his value as a performer has been diminished. The lawsuit states, “They have engaged in outrageous, irresponsible, and despicable conduct that should be punished to the maximum extent under the law.”

There is also the lawsuit against the Gawker website, which is specifying $100 million in damages as well as punitive damages. Hogan is now seeking a temporary restraining order, a permanent injunction to force Gawker Media to remove anything related to the video from their websites.

In both lawsuits, Hogan is demanding all copies and material related to the tape be handed over to his legal team so they can be destroyed. Hogan wanted to pursue criminal charges, but the statue of limitations for filing charges have passed.
