Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rok-C to become ROH Women’s Champion last night on Impact Wrestling.
This is part of an angle that will see the ROH World, Women’s and World Tag Team Championships be defended in other companies with the blessing of Sinclair, as reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The plan is for the three main belts to have champions who defend them in various promotions including Impact (Jonathan Gresham already defended his World Championship at Hard To Kill against Chris Sabin). The independent companies booking ROH champions will also give ROH the footage rights for these matches, which will be showed on Sinclair.
The secondary ROH belts such as the Television, Pure and Trios Championships will instead be retired.
